Well, first of all sugar from fruit can be fructose and glucose which are two simple sugars (monosaccharides) while sucrose (table sugar) is a combination of the two and is known as a dissacharide. Fructose, glucose, and sucrose can all lead to spikes in your blood sugar levels when taken in large amounts. However, fructose causes the smallest spike on blood sugar levels. Large amount of fructose can lead to diarrhea because it is absorbed more slowly and it sits in your small intestine for a longer duration. However, there is some controversy as to whether fructose leads to more fat being stored in your mid section when compared to glucose. The reality is that large amounts of sugar aren't good for you no matter what form they come in (i.e. glucose, fructose, galactose, sucrose, etc.) All sugars contain 4 calories per gram and have no nutritional value. Sugars only purpose in your body is to provide energy. Also, it should be noted that all sugars must eventually be converted to glucose prior to being used by your body for energy.
